13-15 December 2024: Shiv Nadar University, New Delhi, India
Our second workshop will take place in New Delhi, India on December 13-15, 2024.
Contributions will serve as a starting point for a comparative analysis of the pandemic’s effect on how global health is understood and practiced today.
Our goals during this three-day workshop include:
Highlighting the importance of local knowledge
Advancing research on biopolitics and anthropology by creating a dialogue among the qualitative human sciences
Elaborating frameworks able to renew perspectives on global health that rely less on exclusion and more on inclusion
Articulating a quest for a future in which institutions are better able to
meet the challenges presented by the next pandemic.
WORKSHOP SUBTHEMES
The workshop will address the following thematic streams:
Local realities of the (post-)pandemic landscape: building on an ethnographic framework, we will zoom in on situated configurations of health, illness, and governance during and after Covid-19.
The (post-)pandemic biopolitics of global health: through a biopolitical focus, we will reflect conceptually on the post-pandemic meaning of the social care, power, territorializations, populations, and citizenship; exploring the biosocial forms of life emerging during and after the pandemic.
